My First Poncho

Okay, so I’m a bit behind the times on this fashion item, but I think I can still pull it off.

This is a simple poncho pattern that was put out by Urban Tribal Wear. It is knit from one skein of Wool in the Woods cotton/rayon blend that had dusty shades of pink, purple, blue, and green in it and two skeins of Wool in the Woods beaded cotton/rayon.  One of the beaded skeins was medium blue and the other was pink and green.  The two beaded yarns were held together and I had serious misgivings about how the colors might clash.  I was pleasantly surprised with the pretty, subdued results.

This consumed 3 large skeins of yarn that have been marinating in my stash since I first started knitting.  Granted, it’s only been 2 years, but it still feels good to use them.  That made me wonder….what if I knit the yarns that have been in my stash longest, first? FIFO. First in, first out.

Yeah, that’s probably not going to happen.
