Knitting For Babies

My mom has me knitting for babies. First, this pink hat that is the same as one my grandmother made me. All that’s left is to seam the two pieces together.

And now this shrug from Knit Simple magazine. I’m using Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino for both items. The shrug doesn’t look like much yet.

Since I started the baby items I have set aside the beige stripe socks.  They have changed a lot since the last photo that appeared on the blog.  I started the second sock from the outside of the yarn ball and have both socks at nearly the same point.  While this does make the color sequence go in reverse, that doesn’t bother me with these subtle color changes.

I don’t know what I’m going to knit when these items are finished. I can guarantee there will be another pair of socks for on-the-go knitting, but I’m also eyeing several other options that I can knit from my stash like Wisp from Knitty, felted moebius bowls from Cat Bordhi’s book…speaking of Cat Bordhi, I can’t wait to see her latest book! I should also put the fringe on my Lady Eleanor so I can wear it this fall.
