Woohoo! Things have changed since last week. Two projects were finished and now I can focus on Vinca.

1. Vinca – since you saw Vinca last I switched from double points to a single circular needle. I was worried about this, but I found a good way to avoid the stress put on the yarn when switching from one half of the stitches to the other as you do in true magic loop. I’m pulling out a single loop instead, knitting all the stitches up to the loop, then I pull out another single loop anywhere on the opposite side of where I’m knitting. I think this pulls the stitches a lot less than doing true magic loop and it’s easier to move stitches around than if I were stretching them to fill the length of the entire needle.

Here’s what I mean by pulling out a single loop:

Vinca Shawl

And here’s what it looks like now:

In 6 more rows I’ll have one repeat of the 2nd chart done. To make my shawl a bit larger I’m going to knit halfway through this chart again.

Mim’s running a special pattern sale right now so if you have your eye on a few of her patterns now’s a great time to buy!

I’m a little envious, because you are in such a great lace club, and I don’t like the two I’ve got so far from my lace club.

That’s gonna be awesome when you finish it! The tips are great too – for when I get my version cast on. 🙂
