It’s been a while – let’s see, I had a relaxing Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Then a hellish week at work. Then the bitter cold came (lows at 11 degrees Fahrenheit, as DH said this was nothing in MT, but there we were prepared for it). Then the pipes froze. Then the power keeps going out for 2 seconds at a time, 5 times an hour in the morning. And I continue to worry about Miss Blondie with the icy cold water to drink. Yeah, fun times.

I have gotten LOTS of good knitting time at least.

1. Birnam Wood – set aside so I could finish Christmas gifts.

2. Not-So-Secret Christmas Project #1 – knitting finished, photos taken, just need to be washed and wrapped. Then I’ll show you photos after they are gifted.

3. Secret Christmas Project #2 – knitting finished, photos taken, just need to be washed and wrapped. Then I’ll show you photos after they are gifted.

4. Fakeisle Socks – last Saturday I needed an easy take along project so I grabbed a ball of Regia Brasil from my stash. My go-to pattern for this self patterning yarn is a 70 st sock with a long ribbed cuff, the rest knit plain. Now since the event I needed the take along project for, I should have put these down and started another Christmas knit, but it’s too easy to keep knitting….

In other news, remember all the knitted cupcakes? Well all but two have been gifted. In return one of the receivers sent me this Patons Stretch Socks with a nice card. I was super excited because I’ve been wanting to try what I would consider a Summer sock yarn – not much wool content and elastic to make up for the sproinginess of wool.

We should start a Worry About the Horses club. You and me both.

You HAVE gotten a lot of knitting done tho – there’s something to be said for cold, nasty weather. (About the only thing….)
