WIP Wednesday

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Somehow over the weekend I ended up with two new projects on the needles.

1. Fakeisle Socks – another pair of socks. This is my last skein of Regia Brasil Color (the same yarn I made the brown socks out of). Oddly, I had saved this skein until last because I didn’t think it was that pretty in the skein, but it’s knitting up much nicer than I would have guessed.

2. Hamamelis Shawl – I’ve always loved this little shawl, especially Smoking Hot Needles version of it. My version is using up a hank of yarn leftover from Ene’s Scarf.

I always think I look like a dork in hats, but I think this one looks pretty darn good! I like it with the brim folded all the way back.

Pattern: Sockhead Hat by Kelly McClure
Yarn: Sock Donegal by Hand Painted Knitting Yarns
Needles: 3.0 mm circulars
Notes: Cast on 144 stitches and followed pattern exactly. It fits me fine, even could be a tiny bit looser. Photos are before washing though, so I think after washing it may be a bit more relaxed. I used 334 yards.
