The barn got painted to match the house ~ My Mom found this lovely handspun yarn at a farmer’s market

Lots of studying going on here and not much else! I think I’ve knit all of 4 rows in the last week.

I’m still harvesting a few things from my garden. Kale, green onions, and peas ~ Cooked up for dinner with tofu, garlic, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, and brown rice ~ Sunflower forest ~ My one and only pumpkin. Think it will be recognizable as a pumpking by Halloween?

Phew! I feel like I’m finally getting a handle on my schoolwork. It’s still keeping me very busy, but I’m now a little bit ahead of the curve rather than a bit behind it. Three and a half weeks behind me, seven and a half more to come. One of my classes is purely online and mostly self paced. Hoping to get even more ahead on that one this weekend.

1. Blue Flowered Table Runner – umm….nothing going on here.

2. Wakefield Scarf/Cowl (to become Icing) – keep on moving, nothing to see here.

3. Waves of Grain – a little bit of progress.

4. Secret Gift Knitting #1 – isn’t it pretty? That’s about as much as I can show you. I didn’t want to have another project on the needles, but none of my other projects were very portable.

Food Choices

I got a shipment from Super Supplements the other day. They had Amazing Grass for 30% off and their Larabars are only about a buck higher in price than Drugstore.com.

These things have come to my diet to stay. The Amazing Grass I add to my morning smoothies so I stay full longer and also, hopefully, so I stop losing weight. Larabars are the healthiest grab & go bar that fulfills my sweet tooth.

Speaking of Super Supplements, even with free shipping on my order it showed up at my office 24 hours after I had placed the order. How crazy is that? It also came with a 15% off coupon or coupon code for online orders that I’d be happy to pass along to anyone who wants it (seeing as how I won’t need to make another order until next year). Just leave me a comment. It’s good through the end of this month.

Some other things I’m enjoying now…
Homemade hummus without tahini, since I seem to be allergic to sesame.

Food Choices

Sunflower butter with an apple. I have to admit, sunflower butter didn’t sound great to me. After eating some of it I will say it does grow on you a bit and it’s a nice change from my homemade nut butters.

Food Choices

Vegan Peach Crisp. Uses agave nectar to bond the flour and oats instead of butter. On my next grocery trip I bought rice ice cream so I made this a second time and ate it with ice cream. The rice milk ice cream isn’t bad at all, more like an ice milk though. I hear the coconut ice cream is delish, but any of these alternative ice creams will have to be a special treat since they cost a fortune.

I’m off to do more homework! Haven’t touched my knitting needles ALL weekend.
