How pretty are these?

The two skeins of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock are in a colorway called Rainbow and the Shepherd Worsted is Happy Valley.  The Debbie Bliss is not really a gift, but yarn to make into a gift. I’m thinking Broad Ripple or a Feather and Fan pattern would be appropriate for Rainbow.  Jaywalkers are always an option too!

My Sidewinder is really starting to look like a sock! I am about a third of the way through grafting the sock into a tube. It was hard to stop working on them when I’m so close to being finished, but duty calls and I have things I need to get done today.

The most difficult part of this pattern has been executing the ‘make ones’ correctly. I really messed them up on the toe increases, but decided not to rip back.  Then despite being extra careful and revisiting the instructions I still messed up a few of the heel increases.  The color changes in the yarn helped me figure out which yarn I should pick up, but then I kept trying to knit or purl into the easy part of that new loop when I needed to knit or purl into the difficult part!  Maybe that’s the best way for me to remember how to do it correctly – if it’s easy then something must be wrong.

It’s more socks!  The Trekking socks are done. I suppose I should tell you what pattern it is even though you can’t really see it in this photo. The sky is gray and I can’t find enough light anywhere in the house to get a better shot.

Upon finishing these, I immediately cast on for another pair of socks.
